Bargly MCP
Bargly MCP lets an AI agent such as ChatGPT, Claude or Grok use Bargly on your behalf. You explore local shops and their deals from the chat you already use, and if you run a shop on Bargly, you manage it from there too.

1. Connecting
Add Bargly as a connector in your agent. The address is https://mcp.bargly.com/mcp. Your agent will send you to Bargly to log in, then show you what it is asking for. Approve, and you are connected. You never give your Bargly password to the agent.
- ChatGPT: Settings, Connectors, add a connector with the address above.
- Claude: Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector with the address above.
- Grok and other agents: add a remote MCP server with the address above.
2. What you can do as a shopper
- Find deals, flash sales, events and loyalty cards near a city or neighbourhood.
- Find a shop by name and see its profile: hours, address, description, active deals.
- Save deals and see what you saved.
- Join loyalty cards and check your stamps, points and progress.
- Check your Bargly Points and streak.
Deals open in Bargly. The QR code is shown there, never in the chat.
3. What you can do as a shop owner
- List your shops and see their status.
- Create a shop, and update its name, description, address, opening hours and website.
- Create and edit drafts of discounts and loyalty cards.
- Publish and unpublish discounts and loyalty cards.
- See campaign results: redemptions, members and completed cards, as totals.
- See your plan.
New shops are reviewed by Bargly before anything can be published. Publishing never spends a paid credit: when it would, the agent sends you to Bargly to decide.
4. Permissions
When you connect, you choose what the agent may do. Two levels exist:
- Shopper: search, shop and deal details, your saved deals, your loyalty cards and points.
- Manage my shops: everything about shops you own or work at. You can leave this off.
Every action is checked against the level you granted.
5. What the agent can never do
- Pay, subscribe or buy credits.
- Scan, stamp or redeem. These happen in person, in Bargly.
- Send blasts or start flash sales.
- Invite team members, claim shops, change handles or delete accounts.
- See other people's personal data. Shop results are totals only.
- Act for you after you disconnect it.
6. Your data
- Bargly does not see your conversation. Your chat stays between you and your agent.
- Only the action you ask for reaches Bargly, for example a search for an area or an offer you want to publish. Nothing else from the chat is sent or stored.
- The agent receives only what that action needs, never your password and never a Bargly session.
- Anything about you is read with your own account's rights, the same rules as the Bargly app.
- Bargly keeps a record of which action was taken, by which agent, and whether it succeeded. Not what was said.
- Place names you search are turned into an approximate area. Precise locations are never sent to the agent.
See the Bargly privacy policy for how Bargly handles personal data.
7. Security
- You log in with your Bargly account and approve the connection before the agent can do anything.
- Your agent's session with Bargly lasts 30 days. After that, you log in again.
- Each agent gets its own session. Disconnecting one does not affect the others, or your Bargly app.
- Bargly limits how much an agent can do per minute, so a runaway agent cannot flood your account.
8. Disconnecting
Remove Bargly from your agent's connector settings. Disconnecting in Bargly is coming to Preferences. Either way the agent loses access right away.
